Hartville’s Shirley Trier shot 79 at the Country Club of Hudson to qualify while Canton’s Denise Callahan, who also qualified for the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur, advanced as an alternate after shooting 82 at the same site. Canton’s Suzi Spotleson also gained a spot with a fifth-place finish during the qualifier at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Va. all three will join 129 other players for 18-hole rounds both today and Sunday before the field is cut to the top 64 for the first round of match play Monday.
